First Term
I am so excited that the term is almost over! It has been a really long summer!!! I cannot believe I just did 18 weeks of school with a grand total of 3 days off! I am excited for a little bit of a break before we start another semester!!

Technology in the Classroom
I am actually not an education major, I am taking this class to fulfill a computer class credit. I have thought about opening my own CPR and first aid business for a few years now. So I do think it is important for me to take this class so I can learn how to use the computer in the classroom. I think that this class will teach me how to use the internet as a teaching tool. I want to learn the different ways that the internet can be used as an asset to me and the students I teach. CPR is a lifesaving technique and if I can find additional resources and ways to cater to the different learning styles of students then I think it is important! I think the internet will be used in teaching CPR through watching videos. Also being able to pull up studies on the effectiveness of CPR. We could also post videos and let the students critique themselves of how they did CPR. Below is a link of the study of CPR that would be useful in a classroom.

What is web 2.0?
Web 2.0 could also be called the world wide web. It is the ability to tie people of all different cultural backgrounds together. Although we are scattered throughout various places in the world this common link can bring us together. Through web 2.0 we are able to design, collaborate, and to share information and ideas. Much like a community is tied together through interaction and conversing, this is a virtual community. What is a blog and why should every teacher have one?
A blog is a place that any person can express and share ideas, feelings, and anything that they want to really. It can also be a learning and a teaching tool among friends and collages. You are able to design a specific space that caters to you and how you view the world or any other topic. It is important for teachers to have a blog so that they can share the information and knowledge that they have with other teachers, students, and parents. Teachers can share experiences and new ideas that they might have for teaching. It is a way for everyone to benefit and making the teaching experience a better one.
What are the pedagogical implications of student driven BLOGS in contrast to a teacher-created website?
Student driven blogs seem to deal more with the here and now. It is a constant updated ideas of what is the news for that day, each day the headlines are changing. It is also predominately a social network. It is a way to talk about parties, football games, dates, and other common things. A teacher created website is fundamentally more of a place to share ideas and feelings that will educate others. The focus is on what lessons can be taught with others and what information can be spread through this network. It seems to be also a more structured place with a specific intention.
